Auburn _Gear

Single and double reduction planetary gear drives to be used with electric, hydraulic, air motors or mechanical power input from high speed, low torque sources to deliver reduced speeds at increased torques. The input side has standard SAE pads for motor mounting. Available in the three output configurations shown below. Many units can be furnished with an integral parking brake.

Single reduction drives are limited to 3500 RPM input; double reduction drives to 5000 RPM. Units with integral parking input speed is limited to 2500 RPM.The same torque is available in either direction of rotation. Torque ratings are intermittent. For continuous operation reduce torque ratings to about 1/3 to 1/2 the values shown. Units provide 95% power transmission efficiency.

Wheel Drive
Input side has standard SAE pads and splined input. Output side has hub for mounting vehicle wheel. Free wheel is possible by using the spring disconnect to disengage the drive shaft. The disengage feature is standard on all wheel drives.

Shaft Output
Input side standard SAE pads with splined input. Output side options include: Keyed round, hexed, hollow, tapered or splined shaft.

Spindle Drive
Input side is standard SAE pads with splined input. Output side has a flanged spindle for coupling to the load.

Swing Drives
Auburn Gear's new "SW" model 6 is offered with or without integral parking brakes. The "SW" Power Wheel has extra-large tapered roller bearings, a ductile iron hub and heat treated ring gear to minimize backlash growth caused by wear. The external bearing nut provides the ultimate in shaft retention and shaft strength. Output can be a spindle shaft or various sizes of integral pinion gears.

Kit Assemblies
When a complete Power Wheel™ will not fit your application, Auburn Gear can provide part of a unit. Virtually all Power Wheel™ models are available in customized "kits" made up to your specifications, containing only those Power Wheel™ components necessary for your specific application. Typical uses of "kits" include winches, hoists, mixers, swing drives and wheel drives.

Integral Parking Brakes
Because the integral parking brake is part of the cover or spindle of the Power Wheel™ a very short compact unit is provided. The spring applied pressure released parking brake disks run in oil. They are available with the following torques to match up with the ratio you are using.

Available in: Arizona, Arkansas, S. Idaho, Louisana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah
